”Why do you think no one on the bus stopped the boys from doing what they were doing? What might that say about the society in which we live? “
I think nobody on the bus stopped the boys from doing what they were was because they didn't want to end up in the middle of it so they just kept to themselves and minded their own business. What that might say about the society in which we live in is that some people just don't care about anybody but their selves and they couldn't care less about what's going on around them and what's happening to other people. But if something terrible happened to them that is when they want everyone to start caring about what's happening to them and nobody else. But if they don't care about other people but themselves then nobody will want to help them because they turned their back on everyone else instead of caring about it they just ignored it and continued with their own lives instead of helping someone else with what people were saying about them and stereotyping their culture because of what they heard from the media and what they saw on movies. it's not a great society to live in where people care more about their own lives and can't even spare a minute or so just to tell someone to stop bothering the person that they're hurting and tell them to think about how they would feel if they were in that situation and somebody walked up to them and started saying things about who they are, where they come from and what they believe in.
But sometimes for that to happen in the society which we live in would be a huge miracle and it would also feel like you are dreaming it and you feel like it will never happen which it won't happen unless you can make it happen and make people listen to what you have to say and stand up for those who are getting picked on , humiliated, teased, stereotyped just because of their race and because of what people have heard about them on television, in movies and the place which nobody can believe why and that's your friend sometimes it even comes from you. If we all stand up for not just ourselves but everyone we care about our society would be a lot better than it is right now. Now that would be the greatest miracle that ever happened. And it would be a lot nicer to place to live where nobody worries about their race being humiliated. It still bugs me that racism, prejudice, discrimination and stereotyping all still exist although you may not like it but it does exist, very sadly, in most parts of the world. That’s what i think that says about the society in which we live in.
